I opened a suspicious link: am I at risk?
Separate a simple click from entering a password, running a file or confirming a payment.
First action
Close the page. Do not enter information, download anything or reply to the message containing the link.
Then take these steps
- If you only opened the page, keep its URL and check recent downloads. A click alone does not prove the device is infected.
- If you entered a password, change it through the official service and revoke sessions. If you ran a file, disconnect the device and arrange a security check.
- If you shared card details or approved a transaction, contact your bank without delay. At work, also notify your IT team.
