CALM, PRACTICAL NEXT STEPS

My account is locked: what should I do?

A locked account is not necessarily hacked. First identify what changed, then recover access through the official service.

Understand this lockout in a few steps

Select only what you actually observed. This check stays in your browser: do not enter a password or verification code.

Distinguish a lockout from a takeover

  1. Open the service from a bookmark or type its address yourself. Do not follow a link sent by text or email.
  2. Use only the official recovery process. A password that no longer works, changed recovery email or unfamiliar sign-ins warrant investigation.
  3. If you suspect unauthorised access, change the password from a trusted device, revoke sessions, secure the recovery email and warn contacts if needed.

A browser screen showing a support phone number is a different situation: do not call that number. See the fake-support steps.
