HOW IT WORKS
A clear answer in three steps
Submit the item
Paste or import the suspicious item without interacting with it further.
Run the checks
SecurCheck examines technical signals and available sources to assess the risk.
Take the right action
The report explains the evidence, limitations and practical precautions to take.
What SecurCheck checks
An altered invoice can point to a different account. SecurCheck checks the IBAN structure and highlights mismatches with supplied references; independently confirm changes before paying.
- IBAN format and modulo-97 checksum
- Country and French bank code when applicable
- Comparison with your saved IBAN
- Beneficiary, company and invoice context
What to do when something looks suspicious
Stop interacting with the item, preserve the evidence and contact the person or organisation through a separately verified channel.
A SecurCheck score supports a decision but is not a certification or an absolute guarantee. New, private or unavailable signals may remain unobservable.
Protect company payments against errors and bank-transfer fraud
A supplier payment, deposit or refund sent to incorrect bank details can cause losses and complex recovery efforts. Even a genuine invoice may have been altered to show a fraudster’s account. Give finance teams a checkpoint before authorising payment.
With SecurCheck Business, employees can check bank details before payment. The tool checks the length, structure and modulo-97 checksum of a suspicious IBAN, identifies its country and can compare it with a supplied reference IBAN. For a French IBAN, it extracts the bank code. Depending on the document, it also compares the stated beneficiary, company and sender details to highlight discrepancies for review.
A valid IBAN checksum confirms neither account existence nor ownership. The tool does not systematically resolve the bank through BIC/SWIFT, run a direct SEPAmail check or enforce your internal risk rules. Confirm any bank-detail change by calling a known number, use your bank’s payee verification and follow dual approval.
